Boston

In December Patrick surprised me with a trip to Scotland. I was pretty shocked! It's somewhere I've wanted to go for a really long time. This was a trip for our 10 year anniversary even though we have only been married for 9.5 years we feel pretty safe that we'll make it to 10. ;)  Since all of us were healthy well and happy, we thought we should go ahead and celebrate!

We took the boys to Mom's on Saturday June 7th. She and Patrick's Mom were going to double team the child care so we could do this (THANK YOU!). We went to church with the boys and then left for the airport. I laid Samuel down for a nap so I wouldn't have to tell him bye. Jack  really didn't want me to go and we left him crying, poor thing. Will was smiling ear to eat as he waved us down the driveway.

Our first flight of our trip took us to Boston. We found our hotel and then spent Monday exploring the city until we left for Scotland that evening. Boston is such a cool place! Almost every business had windows that were opened, and there were planters filled with flowers everywhere. It was such a welcoming and interesting place. I wish we had had more time to explore. Guess we'll just have to go back!

Please, Mom, can I go with you?

Family photo before we go. The kids look so happy.

Benjamin Franklin statue outside the first public school.  Franklin, Samuel Adams, and John Hancock once attended. Girls were accepted after 1972.

Wish we had these at our church!

Paul Revere statue outside of the Old North Church. Fun Fact : This was one of the first statues by sculptor Cyrus Edwin Dallin, but during his life he created more than 260 works. Another well recognized sculpture is the angel Moroni atop the Salt Lake City Temple.
