Our Thankful Tree

I saw the idea to make a "Thankful Tree" on Pinterest and knew that was something that I wanted to do. So for family home evening, Patrick gathered up the branches (in the rain), while I cut out circles (in the warm dry house). The boys loved this, and so did I! So for the week leading up to Thanksgiving, I thought it would be good to add something we were thankful for each night before family prayer. That happened maybe once, but I'm planning to do better next year. Here is a few of our blessings in no particular order:

Patrick:   To have a job, Lori, William's Neurologists and modern medicine/technology.

Lori:  Electricity, Family, To be home and healthy, and Watching Will and Jack play together.

Will:  "My daddy who plays with me," Peppa Pig, "Not going to the hospital"/Healthy, Chocolate Milk, the Sacrament.

Jack:  Crayons, Drawing, Blanket and Bear, and "Thankful William's not in the hospital."

Men at work

We don't have much leaves to clear up in the fall, but we have enough. Our preferred method of getting rid of them? Mowing them. It chops them up in teeny tiny pieces that you can't even see. Some people think it's weird. We think its easy. Here are the men taking care of business...

Pumpkin Patch

Last Friday, on a whim, we took a family outing to the Pumpkin Patch. Patrick proposed the idea of getting out and enjoying the beautiful fall evening, and I jumped at the chance to go somewhere together that didn't involve church or Wal-Mart. It was such a beautiful evening, and we had a great time.

For some reason William was terrified of this wheel. Patrick finally convinced him to touch it, and he got over it.
Comin' out of the hay maze. Not really. More like I just sat him in there so I could snag a shot.

got your nose!

This was William's favorite spot. He was happiest sitting next to Patrick and watching all the children run past him. Very exciting.
"I don't know about this. Pa Pa says John Deeres are no good."
"There. This is better."

Maybe we should have bought that one?
