I don't always know what is going on when Patrick is looking after Will. But I think it's pretty obvious why Daddy is his favorite, AND why he has decided to tell him on a couple of occasions "wuv ooo" and I still got nothin'!
One evening, not long after we moved in, Patrick offered to help with a temple trip with the YM/YW. This of course resulted in Patrick not coming home after work or before the kids bedtime. Will was not happy about not seeing his Daddy to say the least. He was trying so hard to not cry but not having much success.
Part of Will's bedtime routine is some songs after we read books. One of his favorites to sing and be sung to is "I Love to See the Temple." When it came time to sing, I started with the first line, " I love to see the temp-" Will quickly interjected, and said, "NO! I love to see my Daddy!" This resulted in me making up a song about loving to see Daddy to the tune of "I Love to See the Temple."

Date Night
As I was getting ready one evening to go to a Relief Society thing, Will came into my bathroom and said in his "manly voice" while putting on a pair of Daddy's shoes and his hat, "Hey, Mom, I'm Daddy, we're goin on a date." I said, "We are? Where are we going?" He said, "Anywhere without William."

Teenager Already?
After dinner, Will climbed up in the chair and asked to watch tractor pulls. I told him no, that we were going to have some family time for the rest of the evening and FHE after I finished cleaning up the kitchen. Under his breath, his response? "Dang it." Nov 2009
Ribbit
Will was pooing on his potty. He usually likes to take his sweet time. Well after sitting there for a while he tooted. His eyes got big, and he looked down into his potty chair very interested. I didn't really think anything about it, and proceeded to keep singing a tractor song I made up to the tune of the "Dora" theme song (he insists this helps). He looked back at me and said, "Mom, there's a balm on my bum!" A what? "A balm on my bum." What's a "balm"? He looked kinda far off for a minute, trying to find the words to translate to me what a "balm" is. And then said, "You know ribbit ribbit."
"Mom, now that I just growed bigger, I'm ready to drive the car by my own." March 2011
